Rider clinic with Pro's Mike Kapes & Tom Bruessow on 5/11! Mike Kapes, AA Pro with J&R Bicycles, and Tom Bruessow, single A Pro are hosting a rider clinic on Sunday, 5/11 from 12-2pm.  The cost is $20 per rider.  This will be a great clinic for all riders of any age and proficiency!  Come out and learn from two of the top Pros and be prepared for the State Championship on May 17-18!!!  After the clinic we will have a Mother's Day race, so all you moms get ready to race!  All mothers are encouraged to participate.  Practice will be at 2pm and race at 4pm.  All moms will race for free but you will need to wear proper gear, bring a bike, and fill out a form at registration.  The first place winner will receive a salon gift certificate.  We will have a watermelon eating contest with a special prize to the winner!  Cost is $3 per person.  We will have 50/50 raffle.  Hope to see you all there!!!!   Welcome to Charlotte BMX: Charlotte BMX is a volunteer organization that was founded over 15 years ago by Pete and Maria Taylor of Taylor Contractors of Florida. A one year membership is $45 and a 30 day trial membership is $30, which can be extended to a yearly membership for an additional $15. We also offer a free trial membership (practice only) for any rider who has never held an NBL license. Make sure you wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt. Full-faced helmets are also required but can be rented for $1 each day. Click the link below to see the 2008 State Series Points! http://www.floridabmx.com/points/2008stateseries/2008_points.html   The State Championship is May 16-18 in St. Cloud.  Congratulations to all riders who qualified!  Be sure and come out to our rider clinic on 5/11 so you can be prepared for the Championship!Remember, if you are attending the awards ceremony on 5/18, you need a ticket.  Tickets are $3 and are available at registration. 2008 Florida Competition Congress June 21-22: Once again it's time for riders and their families to help decide the future direction of BMX in our state.  Each year, representatives from each track and Sunshine State Association elected officials, along with racers and volunteers from around the state meet to discuss and set the course for our sport for the coming year.  This congress is open to all Florida riders and volunteers.  Important information is shared at this annual event, with volunteer education and training an important part of the weekend.  It's also a great way to get to know the many great volunteers from around the state.  Find out more about the 2008 Florida Competition Congress and register to become a valuable part of BMX in Florida.  Deadline for registration is June 1st. 2008 Summer Series Schedule: The Sunshine State BMX Association has released the schedule for the upcoming 2008 Summer Series.  The format will be the same as it was last year.  Double Point District Races will be held at three locations on August 16th.  Miami South BMX,  Middleburg BMX , and the new USA BMX Training Facility in Riverview will host those races.  They will be followed by Triple Point races at St. Augustine BMX September 13-14, and at Naples BMX October 11-12.  The Championship Race will take place Saturday, November 8th at Miami South BMX.  This race will also count as Qualifier 1 of the 2009 Florida State Series.  Qualifier 2 will follow in Miami on Sunday, November 9th. http://www.floridabmx.com/races/2008summerseries/2008a_summersked.html CHAMPIONSHIP HOTEL INFO!!!
